Heritage Trail

In Chochołów, you’ll find unique regional architecture. The houses lining the main road date back as far as the early 19th century. They are still inhabited today while simultaneously being preserved as valuable monuments of local culture. Chochołów is, therefore, a living open-air museum. When in the Zakopane area, it’s a must to visit Villa Koliba or the cemetery at Pęksowy Brzyzek. The town features a Zakopane-style trail that guides visitors along the most beautiful buildings of the Tatra capital. Head to the Czorsztyn Reservoir, where you’ll discover two medieval castles preserved to this day - Dunajec Castle in Niedzica and Wronin Castle in Czorsztyn. An added attraction is the boat rides, allowing you to combine visits to both castles in a single trip. On your way back to Ząb, be sure to stop in Dębno, where you’ll find a gem of Podhale architecture - a 15th-century church listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
